Medtrade launches Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) IV Protective Foam Dressings
Medtrade launches a range of protective foam dressings containing Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) designed to help healthcare providers minimise the risk of facility associated Catheter Related Blood Stream Infections (CRBSI). Available in three sizes, the dressings are suitable for a range of vascular procedures, including Central Venous Catheters (CVCs) and Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCs), as well as with orthopaedic pins.
Used immediately after site preparation, the dressings are capable of delivering a rapid 4 log kill *, sustained activity for up to 7 days* and are effective against Gram positive and Gram negative microorganisms* including Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and E.coli. In addition, the dressings are capable of absorbing 8 times their own weight in exudate*, helping to reduce not only the risk of infection but also the frequency of dressing changes.
